What is the W-4 Exempt Status report?

The W-4 Exempt Status report helps Companies monitor employees who have claimed exemption from state and federal income tax withholding. This report includes details on which employees have claimed exempt status and when a new W-4 form is required.


How to access the W-4 Exempt Status report

The W-4 Exempt Status report can be accessed from the Reports page.

Reports

The W-4 Exempt Status report can be run directly from the Reports screen, for a desired date range.

  1. Navigate to Reports from the main menu.

  2. Click Run besides the W-4 Exempt Status report

  3. Select the applicable Year

  4. Click Download CSV. The selected report will download as a CSV file.


What’s included in the W-4 Exempt Status report

  • Company ID

  • Employee ID

  • Employee name

  • Document type (i.e. state or federal withholding form)

  • Submission date

  • Exempt status

  • Signer name
